“Statue of Liberty. The statue of greatness!” – Surveys Profit

“Where the gladiators were…my family & I visiting the Colosseum!” – OceanGirl

“The eye glasses belong to my grand mother and the wrist watch belongs to my dad. Grandmother’s eye glasses which she used to wear them to look after all the kids and to read the spiritual and mythological books for the kids. By listening to them we learned so many life skills. She passed away when I was 3yrs old. At that time evening she was reading spiritual chants for us as usual in the evening and I was in her lap when she died. I got out of her lap and I shaked and called her but she was not responded. Now I am 54yrs and still remember the scene.
Second one my dad’s wrist watch. He used say to us we need to keep 10mins ahead to keep us in time. Every day he used to set up all my brothers and sisters watches after his AM coffee. At that time these are manual watches, no battery. He always in time and we learned from him lots of things. These 2 items are with my big brother, he preserved them. I took the photo to show them to my son. We can just keep them fresh in our memories.” – Ramadevi

“This chair was made in the mid 1940’s and was given to my husband and I when my husbands parents died. My mother in law had it made for her husband when they had gotten engaged in the 1940’s.” – Dicksy M.

“I tried to find something old in the car and surprisingly I did! Being born in 1988, I definitely know this is older than me.” Kaitlyn L.

“These marbles once belonged to my husband’s Grandfather who played with them as a child. A couple even pre-date WWII. Considering I am 48, compared to my age, these marbles are ancient relics.” – Denise N.

“This is a photo of Winchester Cathedral that I took while on a tour in September 2008. As it was consecrated in the year 1093, I assume it qualifies as a photo of something older than me.” – Paul C.

Congrats to all the finalists. Although my photo did not make the cut this time, I still enjoy coming back and voting and seeing all the awesome photos. I cannot wait for the next photo topic!! Good Luck to everyone. I voted for Denise N. I loved playing marbles, jacks, and pick-up-sticks when I was a little girl.

I worry that America may no longer value what this great lady who is the subject of the picture represents.

    • Toney Roney

I’m disappointed that they rejected the first statue of liberty.

  • ramadevi

Today I shared the photo with my sister and she was very happy to see them. Eye glasses of my grand ma and papa’s watch. We all still remember these items and memorize them a lot whenever we talk to each other.
