YouTube contest 2 – full rules

How to enter
You must:

  1. Be at least 18.
  2. Read and agree to our requirements, as well as our conditions of entry, to participate.
  3. Be a Vindale member. Not a member? Sign up
  4. Have a YouTube account. Don’t have one? Create one
  5. Create a 30-90 second video. The topic: “The best $50 I ever spent.”
  6. Upload your video to the Vindale Contests Group on YouTube by Sunday, December 5th at 11:59 pm EST.
  7. Fill out and submit the online entry form.
  8. Go to our blog between Tuesday, December 7th and Tuesday, December 14th to see if your video made the final round. If it did, vote for it!
  9. Check our blog on Thursday, December 16th, to see if your video won.

Video requirements
Your video must:

  • Be 30 – 90 seconds in length.
  • Avoid profane language, violence, sex or personal attacks on people or organizations.
  • Avoid violating copyright laws or using brand names or logos other than Vindale’s in your video. You must agree to indemnify the Vindale for any claim, demand, judgment, or other allegation arising from your possible violation of someone’s trademark, copyright, or other legally protected interest in any way in your video. All contest submitters agree not to make any commercial use of those portions of their submissions which use Vindale trademarks (including Vindale.com) without prior written approval from Vindale.
  • Your video may not contain any endorsement, solicitation, commercial or similar content advocating for or against candidates for office, political issues, or commercial products.
  • Your video must be original content for this contest. Do not submit a video that has been submitted elsewhere.
  • Videos from digital cameras, camcorders, and phones are all acceptable if they’re in .wmv, avi, .mov, or .mpg format and must be submitted to the Vindale Contest group on YouTube.
  • Obtain release forms for all people featured in your video. You must provide Vindale Research with the forms if requested.
  • Videos submitted without an entry form will not be judged. By entering the contest, you grant Vindale a perpetual, royalty-free license to use your video in any media, for standard marketing-related and other commercial purposes. You grant Vindale permission to edit, modify, format, or adapt your video for Vindale’s purposes at Vindale’s sole discretion.
  • Except for the $100 prize, no other compensation will be paid to any entrant of the video contest for the submission to Vindale or Vindale’s future use of the video in any manner.
  • If you want to remove your video from the competition, you may request Vindale delete your video from its competition before the contest deadline.
  • There is no limit on the number of videos someone may submit.

Deadline
All videos must be uploaded to our YouTube group by Sunday, December 5th, 2010 at 11:59 pm EST.

Winner selection
After the contest closes, videos will be judged to see if they present accurate info and comply with the requirements of the contest. Videos that don’t comply will be disqualified. All other videos will advance to round two where the videos will be voted on by the public.

Privacy
The personal info you submit will be used to contact you in the event you win the contest or if there is a question or issue regarding your video or its content. We won’t disclose, give, sell, or transfer any personal info about you, unless required for law enforcement or by statute. As your video will be made available to the public, you should not include personal info about yourself or anyone else.

All information collected in the entry form will be deleted at the conclusion of the contest. Vindale is using YouTube to host the videos for this contest. You are subject to YouTube’s use, privacy, cookie, and security provisions also. Those provisions can be viewed at http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/t/privacy.
