hmm I guess I’m a NEAT RAT I save a lot of things,but they are organized lol.
I guess you could say, there is a Method to My Madness. My husband & I love going to auctions. We love oriental vases,carved boxes,furniture, old books, cookware, & jewelry. In other words we like just about everything. There was one auction I used to attend that sold “Mystery Boxes”. You bid on them without seeing whats inside. I have found quite a few “plums” in these boxes. One had a beautiful hand painted Oriental dish inside with a beautiful geisha on it & an antique silk fan & another time I found a diamond tennis bracelet in a sock.We had a very large house when we first moved to Texas because my kids were still living at home, so we had plenty of room to display our treasures.When the kids went off to college we downsized to a much smaller house & realized we had way too much stuff so we started selling off a lot of the things we bought at the auctions & we made a little profit. So now when we go to Auctions we do it with the intent to sell the things we buy. Whenever a friend comes over & admires something I make a note of it & will give it to them as a gift or if it’s something really big I will sell it to them for what I paid for it. It’s something that we really enjoy doing & we found out we can make a little money doing it! If I hadn’t started doing this I think I would’ve ended up on a an episode of “Hoarders”! I like things to be organized because when you have too much clutter it adds a lot of stress to your life. You also spend to much time having to take care of it. My kids don’t have much skill in getting rid of things so when I open a closet & everything falls on my head I get kind of upset. They think if you can’t see it you won’t notice its messy but it drives me crazy. I’m not a neat freak but I like to know where everything is…it’s a real drain to spend an hour trying to find your car keys or a particular piece of clothing in your closet or a bill that needs to be paid, it can really screw up your whole day!! So as the saying goes…A place for everything & everything in it’s place! I love beautiful things but I have learned that passing them on to someone else makes me very happy! I’m glad to see someone enjoy something that I saw something special about! Right now I am in the process of moving overseas so I was going nuts trying to figure out what I want to ship over & I realized it’s just “stuff”! I’m taking a few things that my Dad gave me before he passed away, some family pictures & clothes. The rest I am leaving here for my kids to have & maybe pass on to their own kids someday.Life is about the Love of your family,good friends & being a good person. I don’t have to pack those things to take them with me, I can carry them in my heart. As always, Peace!

i am a neat freak. i can not stand a mess if there are messes i get irritated
I try so hard to be neat but there’s just so little time! So yes, my desk and room are a phenomenal mess. I do like things neat whan I have time to organize them, but they seldom stay that way for long.

im a little of both have a corner the is packed but the rest of my house is is very neat
I am an organized pack rat neat freak! LOL I keep almost everything because you never know when you’ll need it. I keep everything in it’s place though. It helps to not be too sentimental about items. It’s the PERSON that matters, not the thing.

Pack Rat! Just keep accumulating more and more stuff. All closets full from ground to ceiling.
A little of both because somethings you cant use it right now but you can use it in the future because somethings i been holding for years and now i make profit thats why im a little on both things
