It’s the counter in my school office where I sign in every morning. I am so blessed to have a job I love as a teacher and can’t wait to get to my classroom and incredible students.

  • Jennifer B.

My Fitbit. It lets me know how many steps I take in a day and also how many calories I’ve burned. I like how it keeps me on track and reminds me to get off my butt!

  • Nicole D. C

My Grandma’s counter. We have a lot of memories at the bar stools there. Making cookies, eating cookies, coloring, talking, sharing memories. Best times ever.

  • Jessica Neiweem

My favorite counter is any calorie counter that says I am sticking to my diet and not eating more than I should. I think I like this type of counter best because it’s so rare and awe-inspiring.

  • Diane Krumenaker Eugenio

The deli counter at the supermarket. So many good foods to choose from. Don’t go food shopping when you’re hungry!

    • Karen T

LOL! I agree. But my fiance goes to a restaurant, fills up, then goes to the store and still brings home chips, cookies and little Debbie’s. Maybe it’s just a guy thing. Lol

      • Diane Krumenaker Eugenio

You’re probably right. My husband comes home with the snacks that HE likes! LOL

  • Rusty Carper

My favorite counter is the one on a slot machine. A couple of years back. My ex partner and I went to a casino in Maryland. I always take a small amount around $60 to $80. I was on my last $20 bill and it was around 3am in the morning. I was down to about $10 and was playing on a poker machine. I hit for $320 with 4 wild deuces!! I couldn’t believe it! I just watched the counter on the machine just keep going! I was very excited about that!

  • Donna Goulet

  • MT

My kitchen counter! Everything from fixing meals to talking to just putting my son up there to see what he’d do! That counter has seen it all.

  • Merm123

My favorite counter is the bakery counter at my favorite bakery in town. Home made fresh baked pies and pastries and cookies. The aroma smell goes for miles as I go for my daily walks and always so tempted to go in but that would defeat the purpose of walking 🙂

  • Julie Dascoli-Yanop

My favorite counter is the one at the bank when the teller is giving me my withdrawal!

  • Stannyboyc

The Dairy Dream Ice Cream shop here in Cobourg Ontario Canada.

  • Deb

My favorite counter is any check-out that doesn’t have a line. I am horrible at picking the check-out lanes. I get in the one with the least amount of items in the cart, but then they pull out a wad of coupons! If I do happen to find an empty lane.. the tape has to be changed, or they are closing, or the manager has to fix something. Grrr!! I feel like it’s my LUCKY day if I can find a counter without having to stand in line.

    • Diane Krumenaker Eugenio

At Wal-Mart, whichever checkout line I get on, someone in front of me always has a “problem” item. Then, we have to stand there and wait until another employee comes over and then walks over to the department the problem item came from. Almost every time!

      • Deb

Oh, Walmart is terrible. They have about 36 lanes but only use 3 or 4.

        • Diane Krumenaker Eugenio

That’s so true, Deb! Exactly what I was thinking about too when I posted!

  • Noel Stewart

My calendar is my counter that I use to count the days to my retirement.

  • Sue W.

The counter at the ice cream shop I worked at when I was 15!!

  • Diane Krumenaker Eugenio

    That’s so cute, Karen!

    • Karen T

She’s very articulate & logical with almost everything else, but when it comes to reciting anything she gets a little mixed up. I think it has to do with outdoing her older brothers. Lol

      • Diane Krumenaker Eugenio

She’s doing great for a three year old!

        • Karen T

She gets a lot of help from her 4 older brothers. She’s very competitive and can do almost anything they do. You should see the muscles in her arms and legs. She’s a princess / tomboy. Lol

          • Diane Krumenaker Eugenio

            Nothing wrong with that!

  • Ray Ayala

My favourite counter is at work because I get to meet our wonderful clients and provide them with outstanding customer service that makes them smile and ensures they have the best of the rest of their day.

    • Diane Krumenaker Eugenio

      You’re a good person, Ray!

when i was little, we lived in Madison Wi. they still had a woolworth’s on a corner down by the capital. my favorite counter was the counter in that woolworths My Mom would take me about once every couple months and my Uncle Larry would take me. i thought it was so neat that we could sit and get a soda out of a soda jerk, and eat a grilled cheese looking out the window at the state capital, sometimes we even saw protesters against the war there. i miss that place, I miss my Uncle Larry, and my mom. but the memories will always be there

  • Michaele Dalin Goodson

My favorite counter is at Eddies Grill Geneva on the Lake, Ohio. A childhood memory for hundreds in my hometown

  • Richard Vargas

My favorite counter is at the dollar store checkout. I always feel like I get so much for so little. I was shocked the first time I shopped at the dollar store. My friend told me, “Everything costs a dollar or less”. Although there are some “dollar stores”, that aren’t really dollar stores, so buyer beware.

  • julie c

    bank cash machine

  • Rick Gottinger

My favorite counter is the one at the Tim Horton’s that I used sit at waiting for fresh Honey Crullers at 2 am on a Saturday morning in the mid 1970s. Handmade fresh donuts that were still warm when they hit the plate. Those days are long gone. They still bake donuts overnight but it just isn’t the same as it was all those years ago.

  • edeliz

The soda counter at the drugstore in my neighborhood when I was young. They made sodas, and milkshakes and other goodies. They had the paper straws that would stick after a bit, that was a bummer. It probably wasn’t any great thing, but, it comes with childhood memories, so hard to beat that!

  • Anne B

My favorite counter is the counter where the customers order their drinks. We talk and visit while I make the drinks and finish the cash side of the transaction. I work in a coffee kiosk in the lobby of a Regional hospital, and you are there for the staff, visitors, patients, and the high school kids that rush in during their lunch break. I help with joy, grief, congrats on the new babe, love being with people.

  • Erin Estilette

The counter at the coffee shop. It doesn’t matter which coffee shop… just as long as there is coffee involved.

  • Renee Smith

My DIY Craft room counter, made from a hollow core door and 2 old speakers. I use this as my cutting table for sewing and for other crafts.

  • Diane Lane

My favorite counter is my step counter. It helps me to stay healthy and active.

  • Paul Clément

When I was 4, My grandpa ran a chip stand on the ground floor of our building. The main counter in this small (but huge to me then) diner remains my favourite counter because to this day I still remember Grandpa helping me up on the spinning stool and bringing me a small paper cone filled with the best fries in the world. It took no more than that to make a little boy happy back in 1952 and though grandpa has long since passed, that feeling is still with me today, 65 years later.

  • Cecilia Jacobs

  • Judy Burba McGarvey

My favorite counter is at the local greenhouse. I love gardening and I enjoy picking out the beautiful flowers that will brighten my yard every year.

  • Natania

When my counters are spotless! It’s the best feeling when you walk in your house after a long day and your counters are clean.. No paper clutter (I think sometimes my family plays this game, how high they can stack the papers, magazines, mail, etc.), no loose food sitting around, no hard liquids (spaghetti sauce, gravy, ketchup, etc) that are stuck so good you need something to scrape it off, ugh! I just love my beautiful, shiny, clean counters.

  • My favourite counter is the kitchen table.

  • Kari McDowell

My kitchen bar. I love to sit and eat breakfast with my granddaughter. We also bake cookies using the bar counter because there is more room. My granddaughter and I spend good times at my kitchen bar.

  • Amanda Meharrie

    Clerks Counter = FREEDOM 😀

  • OceanGirl

Being a sports fanatic, I would say my favorite counter is the huge one that displays the score and count-down of how many hours, minutes, and seconds are left in the game. It keeps the excitement going, especially if the score is tied or almost tied with just a few minutes remaining!

  • Giovanna Lasmar

a counter that serves delicious food and when you are very hungry!

  • Cyndi Atchison

My favourite counter is a local bakery (Riley’s) they make the absolute best sandwiches along with delicious baked desserts.

  • BradandNatalie Gray

My favorite counter is my own kitchen counter. The house my husband and I live in is our first house we ever owned. Right when we bought it, we removed the hideous kitchen counter and put in our own. That was the first project we did together.

  • Tbag

  • Theresa Holly

Ice cream counter I love ice cream could eat it seven days a week

  • Carol Miller

My favorite counter is in the restaurant called “The Dandelion”, on 18th street in Philadelphia. The entire restaurant is modeled on an authentic English pub. Their food is outstanding and if you do not have a reservation and are out from a movie or play, they will always find room for you at their counter bar. Normally, I wouldn’t sit at a counter but they are so nice and serve you quicker than at a table. Their food is awesome and the restaurant always makes the top 10 in Philadelphia Magazine. Another reason I like sitting at their counter is that it makes me feel that I am back in London, one of my all time favorite cities.

  • Richard Jefferson

Ruby’s diner at Seal Beach Pier!!!
Great food and atmosphere. Wish I was back there again.

  • Leslie Anne Soloman

Nowadays it’s the counter at the beauty school I’m attending. The receptionists are all genuinely personable, kind and beautiful

  • Lynn

My favorite counter is actually inside of a huge motorcycle shop in my area. We used to have a great little diner downtown called Diana Sweets that was a favorite hang-out for teens and young adults. It had a long serving counter that served ice cream sundaes and root beer floats. This would have been in the’60s and ’70s. In the late ’80s early ’90s, a huge motorcycle shop was being built and the diner was closing. The motorcycle shop actually bought the diner and put the whole diner, completely intact, inside the motorcycle shop, along with the wooden benches that had the original graffiti still on them. It’s wonderful to take a step back in time every so often, so this will always be my favorite counter!!

Who remembers the lunch counters at the old Woolworth stores? Those were my favorites. Every Saturday my mother would take us there for a meal and we would have freshly made milkshakes and toasted blts with the toothpicks with the plastic frilly thing on the top. It was the one time of my mother’s busy work week that we had her attention for awhile. Then we would go to the “bargain basement” and look at the parakeets and find something to buy. Good times, memories of my mom. She also took us to a similar lunch counter at Gimbels-Schuster? How many of you remember that store??? Am I getting old or what??

  • Garry Ga Ga

My passed on grandmothers counter, it was a solid granite top with lots of speckles of silver flakes from the mica and we used to make homemade bread and cinnamon buns from scratch. I recall the coolness of the counter on my hands and face

My favorite counter would have been my Grandmother’s kitchen counter when she’d be baking and me eating the dough or her pie filling mix and denying I did. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/92675ccc08809bc50030e518a4a81b53b513d3c8e7a0b4c31f8c4d06e928771c.jpg
