Out of the office – holiday alert!

It’s a reindeer headband. It’s a menorah. It’s … the holidays! They’re almost upon us. Which means:

We’re taking a break from the blog, Facebook and Twitter.We’re closing up shop from Tuesday, December 20 to Sunday, January 1. That means no contests. But don’t fret! We’ll be back with a whole new round of competitions on Monday, January 2nd.
This break only applies to social media. Our main website will run as usual over the holidays, with no scheduled service interruption.

Hope you have a fantastic holiday, filled with friends, family and your favorite foodstuffs. We’ll miss you!

Thanksgiving break – alert!

Hey folks,

We’re going to be out for the rest of the week stuffing our faces with turkey, potatoes, gravy and pie. We sincerely hope you’ll be doing the same!

Of course, that means no contests on the blog, Facebook or Twitter from Wednesday through Friday. Vindale.com will run as usual.

Did you make $600 with Vindale this year?

IMPORTANT: If you’re a US citizen and earned $600 or more with Vindale in 2011, complete the following steps by February 7, 2012, at 5 pm EST or your account may be frozen.

Do you need to report your earnings?
If you earned $600 or more with Vindale in 2011, you must report your earnings to the US government.

How to report your earnings

Submit your social security number.
If you requested a payment that brought you up to $600 in earnings last year, you should have been prompted to enter your info into our system. This information is required by the US government and will ONLY be used for tax purposes.
Fill out and send in an IRS Form W-9.
- Print form. Download W-9 from IRS website
- Complete and sign form. Make sure you write your Vindale referral code in the form’s top left corner. Get your referral code
- Fax completed form to 866-841-3898 OR mail to:

Report your earnings. As soon as you send in your W-9, we’ll mail you a 1099-MISC. When you file your taxes, make sure you also submit a 1099-MISC for your Vindale earnings.

What is Vindale Videos?
Vindale Videos is a new way for you to make some extra change. Just watch short videos from our partners (most are 30 seconds or so). At the end, you’ll be asked to enter video codes that appear in the video. If you enter them correctly, your account will be credited. If you don’t, simply watch the video again. You’ll also get access to exclusive partner discounts and coupons.

Why don’t I see a tab for Vindale Videos?
We’re currently testing Vindale Videos. So if you don’t see a video tab on your account page, don’t fret! If all goes well, we’ll be rolling out Vindale Videos to our full community soon.

Sounds good. How do I get started?
To get started, just:

1. Go to your “My Surveys” page.
2. Click the “My Videos” tab.
3. Follow the instructions.
